The Holbrook family lived at Elmwood (Atherton, Calif.). Charles Holbrook, his wife Susan Hurd Holbrook, and their three children, Henry Morgan, Mary and Olive, made the trip abroad represented in these albums in 1889. Henry Morgan collected the photographs of well-known people; Plive the copies of paintings. Some volumes of the set were destryoed in the Elmwood fire of 1957.
